Greenfield Community College have been delighted to host a series of visits from primary schools in the surrounding area.
The Year 5 students have had the opportunity to participate in a unique secondary school experience and get a flavour of what Greenfield has to offer.
The primary schools have had a chance to sample a selection of the excellent facilities on offer and have had taster sessions in Science, Dance and P.E.
They have also had the opportunity to take part in a SOLEs session in our fabulous Room 13, as part of an introduction to Greenfield Arts Centre.
They have enjoyed researching ‘big questions’ such as “Why do we dance?” and “Should we have one universal language”.
Katy Milne, Director of Arts and Creativity at Greenfield Arts, was thrilled with the feedback from the young people and teachers.
“It’s been fantastic to see the way year 5 students have come up with such creative and unique research, we even got the opportunity to skype our counterparts in India which was great fun,” she said.
A number of schools were so impressed they have suggested return visits to Room 13 and some are even keen to replicate the SOLEs project within their own school.
