Woodham Academy will be launching a new Performing Arts Academy in September.
This will give all students the opportunity to develop their skills in music, drama, sound and lighting, set design and costume design.
Following this year’s hugely successful performance of Grease, the Performing Arts Academy will stage a musical in the Spring term, as well as Christmas and Summer Concerts.
Woodham Performing Arts Academy is part of Woodham Academy’s rich and varied extra-curricular programme which includes Woodham Sports Academy and Woodham Leadership Academy.
All members sign a contract undertaking to attend every session and to maintain their academic progress. All after-school sessions are free.
Head of Woodham Performing Arts Academy, Mr Gales, said: “The Performing Arts Academy is an exciting new project which gives all students the chance to perform or to be involved in performance throughout the year.
“This will all them to develop and hone their skills in their chosen area, but most importantly allow them to grow as confident young people, which will have a positive impact on their overall education.”
