Woodham students and their parents attended the launch of Woodham Football Academy last week.
Woodham Football Academy offers high-quality coaching to talented players in all age groups from U12s to U16s.
The coaching is delivered by ex-professional footballer, Neil Maddison, from Premier Player Football Academy and Woodham Sports Academy Director, Liam Clough and ex-Middlesbrough and Darlington star Neil Maddison.
Maddison played for Southampton for 15 years and made nearly 200 Premier League appearances, before moving to Boro in 1997.
Clough, who currently plays for Team Northumbria in Northern League Division One, has coached for Hartlepool United and is currently team manager of the Bishop Auckland District Schools Football Association U13s team.
Woodham has had considerable success over recent years in developing footballing talent.
Former students, Jason Steele and Ross Turnbull, represent Woodham Sports Academy as ambassadors.
Steele, England U21s and Middlesbrough goalkeeper, will represent team Great Britain at the London Olympics 2012.
Turnbull, England U20s and Chelsea goalkeeper, won a UEFA Champions League medal earlier this year.
Players selected for Woodham Football Academy are coached professionally throughout the school year.
They also have the opportunity to travel to Barcelona in October where they will visit the Nou Camp stadium and take part in coaching activities.
Trials for Woodham Football Academy U12s will take place in September when the school reopens as Woodham Academy.
