A woman was treated in Darlington Memorial Hospital after a road traffic accident near Newton Aycliffe on Monday morning.
The accident, involving a Suzuki Jimny, happened at about 7am on the A1 South-bound carriageway, about half-a-mile from junction 59 (the main turn off for Aycliffe).
Emergency services attended the scene and a 36-year-old female motorist was taken to Darlington hospital with injuries not thought to be serious or life-threatening.
One lane of the carriageway was blocked during the incident, but police said the other lane was flowing freely, and the blocked lane re-opened by 8.30am.
