Remember this?
The most famous football trophy in the world came to Newton Aycliffe this time last year.
The Football Association brought the FA Cup trophy to Moore Lane Park, to celebrate Aycliffe’s first-ever game in the competition.
Unfortunately, the result didn’t live up to expectations, as Billingham Synthonia crashed the FA Cup party with a 7-2 thrashing at MLP.
Allan Oliver’s side will hope to win their first-ever FA Cup match when North-West Counties side Holker Old Boys, from Barrow-in-Furness, head to Aycliffe in the extra preliminary round of the Cup this Saturday.
The game kicks-off at 3pm, with admission £5 adults and £3 concessions.
