Sedgefield Water Polo Club won Junior Sports Club of the year last week at the Sedgefield Sports Awards.
The Newton Aycliffe-based club now goes forward to the County Finals on 10th October.
“All the members and parents are over the moon that all their hard work, dedication and determination has paid off,” said Mel Stephenson, on behalf of the club.
After a year that saw Sedgefield Water Polo Club host a mini water polo tournament for six primary schools in Newton Aycliffe, the group is now looking for new members to try out this exciting sport.
Participants can learn to be a team player, enjoy being part of a winning team and improve their health by building and maintaining their personal fitness levels.
If your child is aged between six and 18 and enjoys swimming you should strongly consider bringing your child for a free taster session any Saturday night at 5pm at Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre.
The club will not only improve your child’s overall swimming, but will also teach them the exciting and highly competitive game of Water Polo.
This well established club runs between the pools at Newton Aycliffe and Spennymoor leisure centre and Woodham Academy, providing six sessions a week.
