Young artists have been working with Bewick Crescent Surgery and artist Vicky Holbrough to create artwork for patients to enjoy and be inspired by whilst providing a welcome distraction for their visit to the surgery.
Whilst creating the artwork, the young people on the Youth Cree project – a Public Health and GAMP-funded programme developed and led by Greenfield Arts – have been looking at smart materials with changeable properties focusing on dichroic film which is affected by light and colour resulting in what will be a fabulous and uplifting piece of art.
There will be a celebration of the installation on 15th April, including the young people, doctors and patients from the surgery.
Youth Cree is designed to promote positive well-being, an outlook which will be specially communicated in this particular commission.
