NACARAT 4/1 William Hill
Despite being 11-year-old, this wily veteran still has plenty to offer and at 4/1 with William Hill looks too good to ignore. Fifth last time out, behind great company in Kauto Star and Long Run on Boxing Day, Nacarat’s dry 2011 can be defied by his drop in weight today. Came close to winning this race in both 2009 and 2010, and has all the tools to go better this afternoon. Paddy Brennan pilots the Tom George trained contender.

ASTON VILLA to win at Wigan Athletic. 17/10 William Hill
This may well the cynic’s contender for Match of the Day’s graveyard slot, but there’s money to be made by backing Alex McLeish’s men at the very generous 17/10 with William Hill. Wigan have won just once at home all campaign, and lie rooted to the foot of the table. Villa may have only won three on the road, but they’ve only lost three also (Newcastle, Tottenham and Manchester City). Those three victories have all came in their last five league travels, including the 3-1 scalp of Chelsea on New Year’s Eve. Despite losing to the Toon Army the last time they hit the road, The Villains have netted 14 times on their last seven away days.
