NEWTON AYCLIFFE vs DUNSTON UTS
AuxAudio.co.uk Stadium
By Paul McGeary
Peter Dixon will hope it is third time lucky for his Newtonians side as he goes in search of his first victory following two defeats in his opening two games in charge.
The former West Auckland boss has again been strengthening his squad, and after a poor performance last week, ‘keeper Will Jones will face a fight from new signing James Winter, formerly with Hartlepool United and Durham City.
Defender Dan Mitton will be included in the squad, having turned down a move to rivals Bishop Auckland at the weekend, while Scott Oldfield and Tom Hinchley return from suspension.
With Dixon still shaping his squad, it remains to be seen which players from the previous reign will be allowed to stay with the club, as Winter and an unnamed player – whom the club have asked for International Clearance for – will bring Dixon’s new faces to a total of 11 in as many days.
Dunston arrive at Moore Lane Park defending an unbeaten record in Aycliffe, and are on a rich vein of form, having impressively won at Ashington during midweek, taking them to 8th in the table.
Forward Dan Wilson scored in the game against the Colliers, and he will look to get one over on Aycliffe, a side he played briefly for last season, scoring just once in his time at the club.
