Tekmar Energy has won a major new offshore wind farm deal in Taiwan.
Offshore installation contractor Jan De Nul Group has selected Tekmar’s cable protection system (CPS) TekLink Mechanical Latch for the Changhua offshore wind farm.
Changhua is the second wind farm to be installed in Taiwan located along the West Coast with construction activity starting offshore next year.
The project has a total capacity of 109.2MW consisting of 21 offshore turbines.
The award also continues the success of Tekmar in the region, after being selected for several adjacent windfarms including the Formosa project 1.
Mathieu Wittouck, cable supply and installation manager for Jan De NUl Group, said: “We were impressed with Tekmar’s technical capability during our evaluation and the commitment they are making to support the development within this region, we look forward to working with them once again and delivering a safe and successful cable installation.”
Tekmar Energy director Jack Simpson said: “This continues Tekmar’s trusted relationship with Jan De Nul Group and furthers our global position as the world market leader in offshore wind cable protection systems.”
As part of the project, Tekmar will be supplying their latest TekLink Generation 8 cable protection system for all inter array and export cables, the bellmouth for the foundations and the hang-off systems to secure the cable internally.
