A Newton Aycliffe man was handed a suspended jail term for assault.
As revealed by Sergeant Mark Edwards, in his regular blog on Aycliffe Today, Jason Brannigan from the town appeared at Aycliffe Magistrates Court on 22nd February and was convicted of assault.
He received a 26-week period of imprisonment suspended for 12 months.
He was also sentenced to a community order meaning that he will have to be supervised by the Probation Service for a specified period.
