A Newton Aycliffe man was handed a suspended jail sentence after he was caught drink-driving twice within the space of five days.
As revealed by Neighbourhood Police Team Sergeant Mark Edwards in his blog on Aycliffe Today, 51-year-old Malcolm Paterson, of Pemberton Road, admitted two drink driving offences and one count of possessing cannabis when he appeared at the town’s Magistrates’ Court.
He was banned from driving for three years and was given an eight-week jail sentence, suspended for a year.
