Budding scientists and engineers are being invited to a special summer holiday event in Newton Aycliffe.
Aycliffe Youth Council, Great Aycliffe Town Council and a range of organisations have joined forces to organise a Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) day in the town during the school holidays.
Well known scientist John Kilcoyne, star of the TV show Brainiac, will deliver a show as part of the STEM day at the Oak Leaf Sports Complex on Friday 3rd July, 10am until 2pm.

There will be a range of hands-on activities for young people to enjoy as well as ‘what next’ information and professionals on hand to answer your questions.
Test your skill and co-ordination with VEX robots; underwater ROVs and disarm the exploding device.
There will also be a range of electronic gadgets to test your speed and agility.
And if you enjoy a challenge there will be opportunities to build a balloon powered Locomotion No.1 and help build a suspension bridge.
Very limited parking will be available on site so the organisers would ask that you make alternative transport arrangements to attend the event.
