Professional skaters will be coming from across the country this weekend to celebrate the new installation of a Skate Park in Newton Aycliffe.
The new facility in the Town Park replaced a very popular skate park earlier this year and – after being officially opened by the town’s mayor (pictured above) – has already been well received by many local riders.
Great Aycliffe Town Council has worked with Fearless Ramps, who designed and installed the new attraction, to organise a celebration event to help to promote this fantastic new facility.
Not only will professional skaters be on site to demonstrate their skills and encourage local young riders to give the new facility a go, but a series of other free attractions, mainly aimed at the youth audience, will be available including a total wipeout game, laser quest and bungee trampolines.
Local skaters and riders of all abilities are encouraged to come along, try the skate park and show off their skills.
There will be spot prizes for riders throughout the day, including a trophy and prize from Aycliffe Youth Council for the best local rider.
The event is not just for skaters – families are encouraged to come along and enjoy this free fun event, which takes place in the Town Park between 11am and 4pm on Saturday (May 25).
