Ryanair has celebrated the start of its Newcastle summer 2017 schedule and the first flights on its new routes to Barcelona Girona, Faro, Madrid and Palma.
Ryanair’s Newcastle summer 2017 schedule, its biggest ever, includes 12 routes, with more flights to holiday hotspots Alicante and Malaga, and new summer services to Lanzarote and Tenerife.
To mark the start of the summer season, Ryanair has released seats from Newcastle at prices starting from just £21.99, for travel in May and June, which are only available for booking on the Ryanair.com website until midnight Wednesday (29 Mar).
Ryanair’s Robin Kiely said: “Summer is finally here and we’re pleased to officially launch our Newcastle summer 2017 schedule and our new routes to Barcelona Girona, Faro, Madrid and Palma.
“Ryanair customers in the North-East can choose from 12 routes from Newcastle Airport this summer, and enjoy more flights to the likes of Alicante and Malaga, as we continue to grow our Newcastle traffic and routes.”
John Irving, business development director at Newcastle International Airport, added: “We are delighted to see Ryanair launch their summer 17 schedule as their route offering grows to a total of 12 destinations, their biggest ever schedule from Newcastle to date.
“This includes our first ever service from Newcastle to Madrid, a fabulous destination that has long been desired by the North East travelling public and is the latest in our exciting city break offering.
“The Spanish capital is not only a great place to visit but we also believe this will help boost the region’s business and trade links, as well as support inbound tourism.”
