It’s hard to believe it’s been almost 15 months since the ‘Great Fire of Aycliffe’.
November 5, 2010 was the date when the fire broke out at Stiller’s warehousing and distribution centre on Aycliffe Industrial Park.
More than 7,000 pallets of aerosol anti-perspirent exploded shortly before 1pm, and around 180 people working on the site were evacuated. No one was seriously injured.
Smoke and flames reached almost 200 ft in the air, which could be seen from Teesside.
