A local entrepreneur will form part of what will be a slightly different Q&A format when businesses gather for an event on Aycliffe Business Park next month.
Aycliffe Business Park Community’s next news and networking event in February will feature a Q&A session with Craig Jones, CEO of Rare Rockets.
Rare Rockets, based on Aycliffe Business Part, aims to empower a unique space where deaf people have equal opportunities and choice to services, interaction and society, however and wherever they choose.
The Aycliffe firm works with deaf, hard of hearing and professional communities across all sectors of language interaction, community support, training and resources, offering a range of services including sign language interpreters and translators, lipspeakers, notetakers and speech to text reporters.
Craig will conduct his interview with ABPC business development manager Martin Walker via a sign language interpreter.
“I’m absolutely humbled and buzzing to be invited as a guest speaker for the next event,” said Craig, who was previously manager of Hartlepool Deaf Centre and service coordinator at Darlington Council, before launching CJ Interpreting, now known as Rare Rockets.
“Meeting with local business neighbours is a bonus in propelling your organisation’s profile and forming local partnerships and friendships.
“Aycliffe Business Park is ideal location for the hub hub for any businesses. Not only are you central for commuters but local facilities and opportunity for collaborative working is huge.”
Martin Walker added: “We’re delighted that Craig has agreed to be our Q&A interviewee for the next news and networking event.
“Craig has a fascinating and inspiring business story. We’re very happy he chose Aycliffe as a place to base his business, so I’m sure all the delegates at the next event will love to hear his story.”
The February event, which was originally scheduled to take place on Friday (January 21), will take place at the Glow Centre (formerly known as the Xcel Centre), from 8.15am on Friday, February 18.
It is open to any business, but if your business is based outside Aycliffe Business Park there will be a charge of £10.
There’ll also be news and updates from the group, networking opportunities and there’ll be a chance to ask questions and make suggestions, while breakfast will also be provided.
