A local group of ladies will hold a Queen’s Garden Party in the area this weekend – a week before the official Jubilee!
The women, who are set to run the Darlington Race for Life in June, are giving their fundraising a kick-start by organising a Queen’s Garden Party at Heighington Village Hall this Saturday (26th May), from 7.30pm onwards.
Taking the theme of the Diamond Jubilee, the event will include live entertainment from local band Corridor Pass, which will be followed by a disco. All proceeds from the evening will go towards Cancer Research.
You are invited to bring your own drinks and should you wish to get really into the theme, your own picnic food to enjoy on the evening.
All are welcome to come along, so get dressed up in your Garden Party glad rags for an evening of fundraising fun.
Entry is £5 on the door, or tickets can be purchased in advance by contacting Shelley on 07816838423.
The Race for Life is due to take place on Sunday 10th June at Darlington South Park.
