Jason Steele was among the spectators when Woodham Academy staged a successful football tournament for primary schools in Newton Aycliffe.
Bathed in glorious sunshine, participants from Stephenson Way, Heighington, Byerley Park, Aycliffe Village, Woodham Burn and St. Francis schools performed in front of the Boro goalkeeper, who’s a Sporting Ambassador for the Academy.
The tournament was a culmination of an eight-week programme that has seen Woodham Academy Sports Staff, Liam Clough and Peter Watling, working alongside Premier Player Academy coaches, Neil Maddison and Andy Collett, in the primary schools.
Woodham Sports Academy and tournament organiser Liam Clough said: “The afternoon was a resounding success with a very high standard of play in evidence.
“All participants should be proud of their level of performance.”
Congratulations to the team from Stephenson Way who picked up the trophy and were undefeated throughout.
