Police are warning motorists of hazardous driving conditions in Aycliffe and County Durham this morning – with a number of incidents being reported across the region.
Luckily, there are no reported incidents in Newton Aycliffe as yet this morning.
A mixture of low temperatures and some rain has resulted in black ice and some perilous roads today.
Inspector Ed Turner, of Cleveland and Durham specialist operations unit, said: “Overnight a combination of rain fall and freezing temperatures has created dangerous conditions which aren’t as obvious as now.
“Drivers should therefore these conditions in to account while driving.”
Police have reported a number of minor motoring incidents in County Durham this morning – at the A690 Rainton Gate, Esh Winning, Broompark, Hamsterley, Consett and Coniscliffe Road in Darlington.
