Police are hunting thieves who’ve stolen 75 litres of hazardous chemicals from a Newton Aycliffe factory.
Offenders have scaled an eight-foot fence at Almit Metal Finishing on Aycliffe Business Park before stealing three containers of chemicals used in nickel and zinc cleaning.
The liquids, which were all in blue containers and worth £300, are hazardous to health and can cause skin irritation.
In total the chemical thieves got away with:
● 1 x 30L container Soltopas Z21, a clear passivate after the zinc platting process (value £100)
● 1 x 25L container Z41, an additive for the nickel plating process (value £100)
● 1 x 20L container Z42, an additive for the nickel plating process (value £100)
It’s thought the containers were stolen some time between 30th May and 25th June.
