Police have confirmed there was a minor road traffic accident near Redworth Hall Hotel on Sunday, which involved a main road being closed.
A Durham Constabulary spokeswoman told Aycliffe Toady the accident happened at about 2.50pm on Sunday, close to Redworth Hall, on Shildon Road (A6072), which was closed for a small period of time.
There was one person, a woman, who was taken to Middlesbrough James Cook Hospital suffering from whiplash. She was later discharged.
