Police are appealing for witness to a road traffic accident which happened on the outskirts of Darlington on Wednesday night which left a motorcyclist with serious injuries.
The collision, which involved an Asprilla 125cc bike and a Ford Transit van, happened on the A67 at Merrybent, heading towards Darlington.
The 18-year-old motorcyclist was taken to James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough with a broken leg, fractured pelvis and breaks to both shoulders. His condition this morning was described as stable.
The driver of the van, a 56-year-old man, and his 24-year-old passenger, were unhurt.
