More than 1,000 people turned out for the free family fun day held in Newton Aycliffe town centre.
Organisers dubbed the event a “huge success” after the decent weather brought a healthy turn-out from members of the public.
At least on more event is planned for the town centre this year following the success.
Last Thursday’s family fun day was a blue light and armed forces day, to celebrate the police, fire services and armed forces.
A host of army, police and firefighting equipment was on display during the day and local police officers were also in attendance, as well as Durham and Darlington Fire & Rescue.
Local army reservists from 124 Recovery Company Reme, 201 Field Hospital and D Company 5 Royal Regiment of Fusilier were also there with some of their equipment and machinery.
And youngsters could also enjoy a BB gun range and Bouncy Castle as part of the day which was completely free.
