Phil Wilson has been re-elected as Newton Aycliffe’s MP in the 2017 General Election.
Labour’s Sedgefield constituency MP since 2007, Mr Wilson won with a slightly reduced majority of 6,059, polling 22,202 to the Conservative Party’s Dehenna Davison, who polled 16,143.
UKIP’s John Grant won 1,763 votes, Stephen Psallidas from the Lib Dems polled 797 and the Green Party’s Melissa Wilson polled 686.
The turnout in the Sedgefield constituency was 41,591 (65%) compared to 38,716 (61.6%) in 2015.
