The Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP) picked up two impressive awards at the North-East Better Health at Work award ceremony.
PCP were amongst businesses across County Durham and Darlington who were being recognised for their commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of their employees as well as contributing towards creating healthier workplaces.
PCP picked up the Voluntary Sector Business Award and the Longevity Award.
The local charity, which runs the Pioneering Care Centre in Newton Aycliffe, also picked up an ‘Achieving Continuing Excellence’ plaque.
Chief executive Jane Hartley said: “I am thrilled that PCP has received these prestigious awards, it recognises our commitment to supporting the health and wellbeing of all our staff, increasing productivity and improving employee morale.
“A big thank you to the staff involved in contributing to this work, in particular Becky Gustard, without whom we would not have achieved this. Well done.”
County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust hosted the awards evening to celebrate the hard work and commitment of local employers in achieving the ‘Better Health at Work Award’ for the second year.
Dame Carol Black, National Director for Health and Work, Department of Health presented the awards.
Some of the benefits of good workplace health are to:
● Reduce ill health caused, or made worse, by work.
● Help people who have been ill, whether caused by work or not, to return to work.
● Improve work opportunities for people currently not in employment due to ill health or disability.
● Use the work environment to help people maintain or improve their health.
