This week marks the 30th anniversary of Volunteers Week and Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP) is holding an event to recognise the invaluable contribution that volunteers make and are keen to support any individuals who would like to give a little of their time to make a big difference.
People are invited along to the Pioneering Care Centre in Newton Aycliffe on Thursday (5th June) between 3-6pm to find out what volunteering opportunities are available to help PCP achieve its mission to improve the health, wellbeing and learning for all.
Volunteering is an excellent way for people to get involved in their local community. It provides people with an opportunity to make new friends, whilst learning new skills to help them get into further training, education or employment.
PCP currently has 89 active volunteers and from April 2013 to March 2014 they provided PCP with over 7,900 hours of their time helping to support the smooth running of the Centre and of the projects based at external locations.
The event will provide an opportunity to talk to existing volunteers about the positive effect volunteering has had on their lives, to discover the skills and training that’s on offer, and information on the different services and projects to get involved with.
Refreshments will be available, come along and see what is available.
