Two men have been charged with burglaries in the Guthrum Place area of Newton Aycliffe.
The pair, both from the town, were arrested earlier this week after two burglaries were reported.
In his latest blog on Aycliffe Today, Neighbourhood Police Team Sergeant Mark Edwards has revealed they’re now due to appear before the courts.
“Members of the NPT worked alongside our Serious Crime Team earlier last week following up enquiries in relation to two reported burglaries that had been reported from the Guthrum Place area of the town,” said Sergeant Edwards.
“As a result two males from the town were arrested. One, a 22-year-old, was charged with the offences and kept in custody to go before the court. He was subsequently released on bail with conditions to stay out of the area.
“The second male, 20, was also charged with burglary and bailed to the magistrates court. The team are now working in partnership with the housing providers to target these people further via their tenancies.”
