Marketing professional Grace Porter has joined Resolution Media and Publishing as the firm’s new business development executive.
The 28-year-old Newtonian, who runs her own marketing company, has joined the Middlesbrough-based publishers to aid the firm’s business development.
Porter, from Newton Aycliffe, is tasked with developing new relationships for Resolution’s two publications, Tees Business and Tees Life – Teesside’s only business and lifestyle magazines.
“I have always been ambitious and creative,” said Porter, pictured with Resolution directors Dave Allan (left) and Martin Walker, who owns Aycliffe-based Mantis Media and Aycliffe Today.
“Business inspires me and I thrive from meeting new people, helping businesses grow and developing working partnerships.
“Resolution’s portfolio of business and lifestyle magazines has gone from strength to strength, so this is a really exciting time for the company, and I am looking forward to being part of that.”
After graduating from Newcastle Business School with a degree in business marketing in 2011, Porter went on to work within events and marketing for homes and communities’ business, livin, based at DurhamGate in Spennymoor.
She took time out after becoming a Mum to daughter Pippa in 2014 but was quickly back to work when she took up a marketing role with web design agency Design365 based on Aycliffe Business Park.
Porter then joined Woodham Academy as the school’s media and marketing officer, guiding the school towards a more modern marketing and communications strategy, before starting her own business earlier this year specialising in social media.
“I love working in the world of media,” she added. “I always encourage businesses and organisations to not be afraid to promote your business, and to use traditional and modern methods of marketing, including PR, magazines, events, advertising, websites and, of course, social media.”
Resolution director Walker added: “I’ve known Grace for a number of years, through my Aycliffe-based company Mantis Media and Aycliffe Today, and I know she’s very enthusiastic about media and marketing.
“I’m confident she’ll be a valuable member to the team as we look to grow both magazines and launch new publications in the future.”
