Newton Aycliffe stretched their unbeaten run to eight games with a 1-1 draw at home to Ashington today.
The Northumberland outfit took a 17th-minute lead at Moore Lane Park when Marc O’Dea’s shot took a heavy deflection off Darren Craddock.
But veteran striker Dan Mellanby drew Aycliffe level eight minutes before half-time, latching on to Dale Jardine’s flick-on before rounding the visitors’ keeper to slot home.
Aycliffe stay fifth in the Northern League first division.
