Aycliffe U8s Whites were away to Shincliffe and Will did great at the back covering his team mates and passing the ball up for the forwards. Regan had great energy and never stopped. Also Harry had some really good shots on goal and William B was amazing in goal as always.
Newton Aycliffe U9 Blacks had a friendly against Willington Blues. Aycliffe looked a little tired with a slow start initially but their heads did not go down and they kept plugging away. Some lovely passing and game play from Aycliffe yet again. Willington kept pushing but Aycliffe equalled them and more. Goals from Benjamin, Charlie, Rhys and Max.
Aycliffe U9 Juniors started their league campaign at home to FC Hartlepool Athletic. Both teams created chances from the start with Hartlepool breaking the deadlock and scoring. Aycliffe did not let their heads drop and battled back with Jack scoring goals. The second half kicked off and Aycliffe continued to keep the pressure on with Dom adding goals.
The U13s Whites played a friendly against Northallerton away. The first half was really competitive with Northallerton twice taking the lead. Aycliffe started playing well 15 minutes before half time dominating the ball and creating lots of chances and scored three goals before the break to lead 3-2 at half time. In the second half Aycliffe dominated the game throughout playing some excellent passing football. Northallerton could not deal with Aycliffe pressing and passing which resulted in Aycliffe scoring five further goals to win the game comfortably 8-2.
Another excellent performance from all of the players who passed the ball really well today and if they had taken all of their chances it would have been well into double figures.
Under 14’s TJFA Division 4 Pre-season review:
When the Covid-19 lockdown ended the previous campaign, with Aycliffe top of Division 5, they were rightly awarded promotion to division 4. They said goodbye to Josh, Joe & Will who have moved on to pastures new. They welcomed into the squad Travis, Cole, Alex & Jordan.
Aycliffe also welcomed Beanies Flavoured Coffee as our shirt sponsor. Many thanks for your support.
Last season’s form was carried into pre-season, with Aycliffe playing some fantastic football and ending the summer unbeaten.
Aycliffe started off with a trilogy of games against Brandon United. A 3-2 win was followed up with a 3-3 draw, both away from home. In the reverse game Aycliffe got a cracking 7-0 win.
They went on the road and tested themselves against higher division opposition, gaining victories over Whinney Banks 3-0, Stockton Town 5-4 and Division 2 Trimdon 3-2.
Back at Woodham they grabbed three wins against Eaglescliffe 4-3, Hardwick 8-3 and also beating the talented Aycliffe Juniors under 13s in an in house game 5-3.
Under 14s finished their pre-season scoring an impressive 41 goals, conceding 20. Travis led the scoring with an amazing 24 goals, followed by Thomas A with 9, Zak with 6 and 1 goal each for Cole and Jake.
Aycliffe are now looking forward to their first season in Division 4, with the team hoping to keep the same momentum that has seen them rise from Division 9 to Division 4 in three seasons.
