Newton Aycliffe Junior FC held the clubs annual end of season presentation day at Woodham Academy where the club are based.
All of the NAJFC “footballing family” inclusive of the clubs committee, managers, coaches, parent helpers, players, parents and guardians alike came together to celebrate each teams and every one of their players season achievements including several tournaments or cup competitions wins.
“It has been another fantastic season of football for all our teams and the club,” said chairman Nige Slatcher, who opened the celebrations.
One very pleasing club development was the formation of NAJFC newly and very successful Wild Cats section for girls.
Slatcher then presented the prestigious chairman’s award to Damian AcunaOcana who thoroughly deserved the accolade for his commitment to the club whilst holding various club positions over the last 13 years.
The club’s team of the year award was then presented to The U10’s Whites who were equally surprised and overjoyed at receiving the award.
Slatcher finished by recognising on behalf of the club five people who were leaving their nominated roles and he thanked the following for considerable efforts over a number of years, Michelle and Damian AcunaOcana, Rob Goddard, Adrian Dawson and Neil Patterson.
Following the chairman’s opening each team manager in turn invited their team onto the stage to present every player with a well-deserved individual participation trophy which the players get to keep.
At the end of the session all the club managers were invited back to the stage to present their teams “nominated award winners” which are listed below by category.
Everyone in attendance enjoyed the day and as always the players were a credit to the club and their parents or guardians and not just on the day but throughout the whole season when representing the club.
“Well done to everyone and a final thank you to all our club volunteers and team sponsors for all your continued support,” added Slatcher.
