The Newton Aycliffe Marie Curie Fundraising Group will be enjoying a spot of tea and cake to encourage local residents to get behind Marie Curie’s summer fundraising campaign.
The local fundraising group will be opening the doors to their own Blooming Great Tea Party on July 9, 2016 from 10 am until 12noon at Heighington Village Hall.
Entry is £2, which includes a hot drink and scone, and there will be an opportunity to enjoy more tea and cake and catch up with family and friends inside.
The Blooming Great Tea Party encourages everyone to get together with friends and family to hold a tea party.
Tea parties across the UK have raised over £4.5m since the campaign started in 2008. The funds raised from Blooming Great Tea Party will help Marie Curie Nurses care for more people living with a terminal illness in their own homes in Newton Aycliffe.
Marie Curie community fundraiser Hayley Revell said: “We are very excited to be welcoming the local community in to Heighington Village Hall for the Blooming Great Tea Party.
“There will be lots of tasty treats on offer and it’s a fun way to supporting our local Marie Curie Nurses.”
If you’re an aspiring Mary Berry or prefer to let someone else do the baking, getting together with friends and family to hold a Blooming Great Tea Party is a fun and easy way to support Marie Curie.
