Work is underway at Woodham Community Technology College to build a brand new Multimedia suite in time for the opening of Woodham Academy in September.
The new £20,000 computer room will house a number of Apple Mac computers which students will utilise for music, video and graphic production.
The room will also contain a separate recording studio area where students can produce their own radio shows and learn how to use green screen technology as seen in popular films such as Harry Potter and Batman.
Darren Smith, Associate Assistant Headteacher, said: “I am thrilled that we will be opening a new Apple Mac computer room in September. Students will be able to use a range of creative applications to create movies, produce and edit music, create animations and even make their own iPhone apps!”
The new computer suite compliments a number of recent digital developments at Woodham including the installation of site wide wi-fi for students, teachers and visitors and the introduction of iPads to the classroom.
