Help is at hand for people in County Durham who want to boost their skills and improve their job prospects.
To coincide with National Apprenticeship Week 2012, Durham County Council’s Adult Learning and Skills Service is reminding residents of the range of work-based training opportunities it can offer.
The list includes Level 2 and, in some cases, Advanced Level 3 apprenticeships in customer services, retail skills, business and administration, team leading, first line management, IT and health and social care.
All subjects include maths and English skills and some also include IT.
National Apprenticeship Week, which runs until Friday, aims to raise awareness of apprenticeships with potential trainees, employers and parents.
Apprenticeships are work-based training programmes tailored to meet employers’ needs. They combine the practical experience of the workplace with a nationally recognised qualification.
