Newton Aycliffe FC have yet again won the Northern League Programme of the Year award, for the third successive season.
In only their third year in the league, the club’s dedicated programme team, headed by editor Paul McGeary, have scooped the top award again.
When Aycliffe burst on to the Northern League scene back in 2009, so did their brand new matchday read, with its professional look and quality read causing a stir.
They won the Programme of the Year competition hands-down in their first two seasons, and although the full results for the 2011-12 campaign are yet to be published, Aycliffe’s superb publication – printed by Aycliffe-based printers hpm group – takes some beating.
McGeary is currently on honeymoon in Morocco, but Aycliffe media manager Martin Walker tonight said: “I’m absolutely delighted for Paul, Glen Robertson and all the contributors who help to make our programme by the far the stand-out matchday read in the league.
“Every year we try to give it a new look with fresh content so we, like the club, raise the bar every season.
“After another long season, and with the endless hours of hard work by everyone involved, it’s great to see all that graft come to fruition with a thoroughly deserved piece of silverware.”
