A round-up of this week’s football from Newton Aycliffe Junior Section.
Under 10’s Blacks – Travelled to Hartlepool St Francis for the last away league game of the season. Aycliffe started off brightly and grew in confidence after creating some chances, Tyler then scored both of Aycliffe’s goals. It was an exceptional performance by Aycliffe. MOTM was Tyler.
Under 10 Whites – Played against Washington Utd, Aycliffe worked extremely hard and put in an impressive performance with a goal from Billy B. MOTM was Riley who played well after a three-month break with a broken arm.
Under 12’s – Faced Newton Aycliffe Youth at the complex with both teams via for promotion. Both teams cancelled each other out in a great game of football which ended 0-0.
Under 12’s – Hosted Newton Aycliffe Youth in the reverse fixture from last mid-week. In what was a close game The Youth took the lead before half time. A big reaction from Aycliffe saw two goals scored but could not hang on and The Youth equalised to make it 2-2. The goal scorers were Rhys and Alex. MOTM was Rhys.
Under 14 Blacks – Travelled to Sunderland to play Whitburn & Cleadon. Aycliffe started the match strong, with some superb football. A great cross from Issac seen Adam give Aycliffe the lead. Whitburn then equalised. Adam doubled his tally to give Aycliffe the lead before a late Whitburn penalty saw the points shared. MOTM was Danny.
Under 14’s Whites – Travelled to TIBS girls, Aycliffe were clinical when chances presented themselves. Tom scored early and were awarded a penalty which Sam cooly slotted home. In the second half there was a seven-minute hat-trick from Henry, before Tom then wrapped up the game to give Aycliffe a 6-0 win. MOTM was Henry.
Under 15’s Reds – Hosted Guisborough Blacks, winning 2-1 in what was not the best performance of the season. Both goals were scored by MOTM Will.
Under 15’s Whites – Travelled to face Spraire Lads, despite an impressive performance, Aycliffe lost 1-0. MOTM was awarded to Harvey.
Under 15’s Whites – Shared the points with Stockton town in a 2-2 draw. Aycliffe led twice but could not hold on for all three points. McKenzie scored both goals. MOTM was Tyler.
Under 18’s – Entertained TIBS at Moore Lane in what proved to be a feisty affair. Aycliffe eventually run out 4-3 winners with some good attacking football, goals coming from Charlie and a hat-trick for Zack.
