A round-up of this week’s football from Newton Aycliffe Junior Section.
Under 7’s Whites – Put in an excellent performance against Hebburn Valencia, it was a strong team performance with all players showing great concentration and focussing on their individual challenges. Goals from Felix (4) and Oliver. Parents POTM was Oliver and Coaches POTM was Jack.
Under 7’s Reds – Travelled to face Boro Rangers Black’s in what was an excellent game. Aycliffe started well with Kian and Oscar who both scoring two goals each. MOTM was Leo for some great defensive work and great passing.
Under 9’s – Played against Billingham Synthonia, Aycliffe started the game very well against a very well but had goalkeeper Jenson to thank when he made a triple save. Aycliffe could not find the gaol they deserved. MOTM was Jenson for some fantastic saves.
Under 11’s Juniors – Entertained Riverside Juniors, Aycliffe started strongly, with Isaac having a few chances but couldn’t find the back of the net. It was Phoebe who got Aycliffe’s first goal after great pressure from Ernie, before Phoebe scored again with an assist for Jonah. Phoebe then turned provider for Jonah to score. POTM awarded by the referee went to Jonah.
Under 12’s – Travelled to Stockton Hardwick, Aycliffe took the lead early through Evan, before the hosts equalised. Into the second half Aycliffe played some good football and were rewarded with goals from Evan and Lucas to win 3-1. MOTM was Sam.
Under 13’s – Had a tough day away to Kader, it was Mo who grabbed his fourth goal in three games and later hit the post, but it wasn’t enough to get the result. MOTM was Oliver who put in a fantastic performance.
Under 14’s Blacks – Travelled to play South Shields FC. With the score 0-0 at half time, Aycliffe found themselves 1-0 early into the second half, before Jake grabbed an equaliser. Keaton provided the assist for Jake to double his tally and give Aycliffe the win. MOTM was Alex.
Under 14’s Whites – Travelled to Darlington to face Spaire Lads. In the first half Aycliffe were out of sorts and had Trystan to thank early on with some great saves, but Aycliffe did concede before the break. Aycliffe pressed in the second half and dominated, a corner from Ethan saw Taylor convert the equaliser. Trystan made a fantastic save from a penalty late on to keep the score 1-1. MOTM was Taylor.
Under 17’s – Entertained Durham City Youth and come away with a fantastic 7-2 victory.
Under 18’s – Travelled to face Boro Rangers, Aycliffe took the lead after Lucas free-kick was directed back across goal from Thomas for Zack to finish. The hosts got back into the game and scored a couple of goals before Zack scored again for Aycliffe to finish 2-2.
