A round-up of this week’s football from Newton Aycliffe Junior Section.
Under 7’s Whites – Played Washington, the same opposition as least week. It was a tough game for Aycliffe who never give up. MOTM was Oliver who was the goal scorer.
Under 7’s Reds – Played in a mud fest and enjoyed every second of it, against Redcar Town Royals. Kian scored all six goals. MOTM was Jack for his hard work and determination today.
Under 10’s Whites – Played against Washington United Gold, in what was a very tight competitive game. MOTM was Will.
Under 11’s Juniors – Entertained Riverside Juniors in the cup. In a fantastic game, Aycliffe could not make it through to the next round, the goals come from Dom (2) & Phoebe who scored her first goal for the Juniors. MOTM was shared between Jonah, Mason, Dom & Dan as they all performed amazing and were vocal throughout the game.
Under 11’s Blacks – Played against Hetton Juniors Inter. Aycliffe were up for the challenge today and started well, without scoring in the first half. The second half was a different story with Aycliffe dominating after a quick reshuffle, goals coming from Rhys, Jack, and Brandon. MOTM was Harry who read the game brilliantly and worked hard for the team.
Under 12’s – Travelled to Darlington TSC. It was a tight first half which ended 1-1, with Aycliffe stepping up the gears in the second half running away with a comprehensive 7-1 win. Goals from Alex (2), Evan, Sam, Jack, Layton & Alfie. MOTM was Alfie.
Under 13’s – Travelled to highflying Billingham Junior Lions and were unlucky to lose 3-0. MOTM was Evan.
Under 14’s Blacks – Travelled to Ouston Eagles, in cold wet conditions, Aycliffe dominated from start to finish, coming away with an impressive 9-0 win. Goals from Danny (4), Joseph (2), Zak, Jake, and Keaton. The 9-0 victory sees Aycliffe clear at the top with six wins from six games. MOTM was awarded to Danny by their coach.
Under 14’s Whites – Entertained Brompton at Woodham Academy in what was a top of the table clash. Aycliffe used set pieces to their advantage in the first half with three goals all coming from corners from Henry (2) and Sam. Into the second half, Brompton pulled one back through a penalty before Ethan spotted the keeper off his line and scored a long shot from his own half. Tom scored next, before Brompton scored their second penalty. The 5-2 victory sees Aycliffe clear at the top with six wins from six games. MOTM was Henry who was strong on the left wing.
Under 15’s – Lost a seven-goal thriller 4-3 in the league cup against Greatham. The goals coming from Kenzie (2) and Ollie. MOTM was awarded to Tyler.
Under 17’s – Entertained Washington AFC Wildcats, unfortunately the Aycliffe of this season did not show up, conceding a sloppy goal early in the 2nd half. A switch in formation got Aycliffe back into the game, with Charlie equalising, then firing a second to give Aycliffe the lead. Washington pinched a point with a scrappy goal. MOTM was Liam.
