Two men have appeared in court after a 21-year-old man was stabbed in Newton Aycliffe at the weekend.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which occurred between 11pm and 12midnight on Saturday June 22, in the vicinity of Rylstone Close.
It’s believed a 21-year-man sustained non-life threatening injuries during the incident.
Antony Neil Wilkinson, of Rylstone Close, appeared before magistrates in Peterlee yesterday (Monday) charged with possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and unlawful malicious wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and was committed to Durham Crown Court on July 8.
A second man from the town has been charged with a public order offence and is due to appear before Newton Aycliffe magistrates on September 10.
