Comedy superstar Michael McIntyre will be performing a very intimate gig at the Gala Theatre in Durham on Tuesday, 22 May.
Used to playing venues with a capacity of 10,000 or more, this will be a warm-up show in preparation for his new tour, in which he will perform more than 60 dates at some of the country’s largest venues throughout the autumn, including 10 dates at London’s O2 arena.
In this special work-in-progress show, Michael will be trying out new material as a warm-up for the forthcoming tour.
Robin Byers, programming manager at Gala Theatre, said: “Michael has had a meteoric rise to the very top of the comedy league, but he has played Gala a number of times over the years when he was not as well known as he is today so it’s great to welcome him back for this very special show.
“As one of the UK’s most popular comedians, Michael has his pick of venues to play, so I’m delighted he will be coming to Gala at the very start of his huge tour. It’s also a great testament to the high regard in which promoters, agents, managers and touring companies hold Gala that artists of his calibre want to perform here.”
Tickets for Michael McIntyre’s show at Gala Theatre go on sale on Tuesday, 3 April at 10am, priced £25 from the box office on 0191 3324041. Tickets are limited to two per person.
