Newton Aycliffe Cricket Club will be holding their second annual pre-season comedy night on Maundy Thursday!
Steffen Peddie (pictured), ‘Big Keith’ from BBC show Hebburn will again be the star attraction and is supported by local comedian Gary Avery at the event on 17th April at Aycliffe Sports Club – the Thursday before Good Friday, known as Maundy Thursday or Holy Thursday.
Steffen had the sell out audience in stitches last year with his hilarious routine of jokes and observational comedy and has promised more of the same this year, while Gary will also bring his own brand of humour to the proceedings.
Tickets priced at £6 are available by phoning 07976 392173 and are sure to be in large demand so early purchase is advised.
Two days later Newton Aycliffe Cricket Club first team travel to Middlesbrough for the opening day of their North Yorkshire and South Durham League Division 2 campaign, while the second team who have moved from NYSD Sunday Division 2 to the NYSD Saturday Division 3, welcome Bedale to the Sports Club for their opening game.
All games this year will start at the earlier time of 1pm and spectators are always welcome to come along and support the team, free of charge.
