A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing in Newton Aycliffe.
It happened on a stretch of grass next to Reeth Place in the town at around 6.30pm on Friday night.
A 32-year-old man was stabbed in the stomach with what police believe may have been a kitchen knife.
He remains in a stable condition in The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
A 48-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
