Local charity Madathon has donated a portable Defibrillator to Horndale Residents Association which the group will use on coach trips and events.
Madathon is a local charity which raises money for life saving equipment, Northumbria Blood Bikes, MRI Scanner and much more.
After a chance conversion Madathon became aware of Horndale’s plans to buy a defib and kindly offered to donate a unit.
Philip Clark, chair of Horndale Residents Association (pictured above, left), said: “We were looking to purchase a defib unit as we recognised the majority of people going on trips are of the older generation.
“We can also we can be in the middle of nowhere while travelling on days out.
“A new unit costs approximately £700, so we can use this money for more community-based events.”
