Ten community organisations are celebrating a funding boost thanks to Great Aycliffe and Middridge Partnership (GAMP).
GAMP asked community focused organisations to submit proposals as part of a ‘Callout’ for projects.
All project proposals had to address at least one of the key GAMP priorities for 2017; Children, Young People and Families, Older People and Employment, Enterprise and Training.
GAMP has an annual Area Budget of £100,000 to spend on priorities as voted by those living, working, volunteering or studying in the area. GAMP covers the whole of Great Aycliffe including the Parish of Middridge, Aycliffe Village, Woodham and part of School Aycliffe.
The ‘Callout’ for projects proved popular, with over £436,000 worth of project proposals being submitted.
All the applications were ranked by representatives of the GAMP Board, with the following organisations receiving funding:
• Acle Scout Group
• Newton Aycliffe Youth FC
• ROCSolid
• Sedgefield School Sports Partnership
• M.A.D. Community Choir
• Pioneering Care Partnership
• Great Aycliffe Cancer Support Group
• School Aycliffe Community Association
• Foundation of Light
• Lifeline Community Action
GAMP Coordinator Brian Riley (pictured above) said: “We had a fantastic response to the GAMP Project Callout, with 42 applications for funding received.
“The GAMP Board members who ranked each application had a difficult task as the quality of applications was exceptional.
“The organisations we have funded, will deliver excellent projects that will undoubtedly benefit local residents.”
