Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP), a leading health and wellbeing charity, joined in a minute’s silence on Tuesday to mark a National Day of Reflection, as it has been one year since the start of the first Covid-19 lockdown in the UK.
They also displayed bright yellow flowers throughout the Newton Aycliffe centre to honour those who have died during the pandemic and those who have bereaved.
PCP chief executive Carol Gaskarth said: “It’s been a difficult year for so many people, not least for those who’ve lost loved ones.
“It is good to pause and timely come together one year on from the first lockdown to reflect and remember.”
The National Day of Reflection offered an opportunity to remember those who have sadly lost their lives through the pandemic, as well as a chance to come together virtaully to hope for a brighter future.
Many other landmarks and buildings across the UK were illuminated yellow on Tuesday night to show their support.
