Get moving, there’s just a few days left to secure your place for the North East’s most action-packed obstacle course.
On Sunday (September 30), Muddy Mayhem, organised by Durham County Council, is returning to Hardwick Park, Sedgefield.
But the deadline for registering is fast approaching, you’ve only got till midnight Wednesday, September 19, to grab your spot.
Elements taken from horse trial courses, motocross tracks, rock climbing centres, military obstacle courses and adventure playgrounds have come together to create a 5km loop packed with over 40 man-made and natural challenges. Some brave runners take on the course twice to complete a 10K run.
Cllr Ossie Johnson, cabinet member for tourism, culture, leisure, and rural affairs, said: “We’re really looking forward to the return of Muddy Mayhem this year. It’s great to see so many people coming to visit Hardwick Park for this popular event.
“Year on year it gets bigger and this year it’s set to be the best one yet. You won’t want to miss out on this, so hurry and register for you and your friends before it’s too late.”
Remember this is no ordinary walk in the park, but whether you get your friends along for a bit of friendly competition, raise money for charity or just want to have a laugh – Muddy Mayhem promises a day of fun.
Runners set off in waves, with the first group scheduled to begin at 10am and the last starting at 2pm.
The 10k race is sold out and only a remaining few afternoon wave slots are now available.
Places cost £43 for the 5k course and are available to book online at www.durham.gov.uk/muddymayhem.
