Parents and their young ones are going to have plenty to do this Easter thanks to Durham County Council’s sport, leisure and countryside activities’ School’s Out programme.
Why not ‘Join in …’ a programme of events designed to encourage young people to take part in Olympic themed activities such as dance and football.
It will also promote exercise and healthy lifestyles by getting children to take part in and be inspired to discover something new this Easter.
The Easter programme is packed with a variety of different taster and coached sport and leisure activities, from cheerleading to cricket and tennis to taekwondo; there’s something for children of all ages.
There are also a range of countryside activities on offer such as community conservation and guided walks.
Deborah Holmes, sport and physical activity development manager, said: “The focus on celebrating sport and individual talent in this Olympic year provides a great opportunity for young people to aspire to develop their sporting talents or inspire them to have a go at something new.
“Over the two weeks, our Easter holiday Schools Out programme has something to suit all tastes, abilities and ages including football competitions and a dance camp.”
Details can be found on the Activity Finder section on the council’s website at: www.durham.gov.uk/schoolsout or by picking up a guide at local leisure centre venues.
