Aycliffe’s own Angie Winstanley-Smith continues her Olympic dream as Team GB’s women’s water polo team take on Austrlia this evening.
Angie, a former Woodham School pupil, scored an historic hat-trick against Russia on Monday night in Britain’s first-ever women’s water polo match in an Olympic Games, but Team GB suffered a cruel late defeat.
They hope to bounce back with a group B match against the Aussies this evening, starting at 7.40pm.
Team GB’s third and final group game against Italy on Friday night (6.20pm).
