One of Newton Aycliffe’s best-known businesses is once again supporting the Aycliffe Make Your Mark Awards by sponsoring not one but two categories.
Husqvarna UK is sponsoring the Innovation award and Newcomer categories for Aycliffe Business Park’s showcase event being held at Hardwick Hall Hotel on May 8.
Husqvarna joins Senstronics, Business Durham, GEM Partnership, The Auckland Project and Moonrise 24hr Recruitment as category sponsors so far.
Husqvarna’s manufacturing director Caraline Robinson (pictured, left, with HR business partner Debbie Charlton), who started out as an apprentice at the Aycliffe site, said: “Last year’s Make Your Mark awards was a fantastic occasion, collectively celebrating some amazing achievements right across our thriving business park.
“At Husqvarna, we’re always keen to support local initiatives, and backing these awards is a no-brainer – we see the value of celebrating success and raising the profile of our businesses individually, along with the business park as a whole.
“These awards events inspire others to aspire to the same achievements, which ultimately lead to an even more thriving business community with more jobs being created for the local community.
“We’re very much looking forward to another brilliant night – and we’d urge all companies and organisations on the business park to consider entering, or nominating their neighbours.”
Husqvarna manufactures robotic lawnmowers at the Aycliffe site, and the UK sales team sell a broad range of garden and forest equipment, including chainsaws, tractors and robotic lawnmowers to both residential and professional customers.
Around 500 permanent staff, and around 600 temporary seasonal workers, are employed at Husqvarna’s vast Preston Road site, which has produced more than three million robotic lawnmowers since 2005.
Martin Walker, of event organisers Resolution Media and Publishing, said: “We’re delighted to have Husqvarna on board as a double category sponsor again this year.
“Their generous support, along with the backing of our other sponsors, make these awards possible.”
As well as category sponsors, the Make Your Mark awards are also being supported by shortlist films sponsor Romnan, programme sponsor South West Durham Training, welcome drinks sponsor Masfix, and table wine sponsor Swinburne Maddison.
There are now only three category sponsorships remaining, for the Environment Award, Lifetime Achievement and Apprentice of the Year.
Businesses interested in sponsoring can contact Martin Walker on 01642 450255 or email [email protected].
